24-hour Dubai time lapse video

Check out this stunning image of the Burj Khalifa area over a day Comments

Check out this Dubai video uploaded to YouTube this week. Gerald Donovan set his camera in front of the Burj Khalifa area of the city and took 2880 shots over 24 hours – one every 30 seconds – starting at 4am local time on Friday November 11.

It shows one of the city’s most beautiful cityscapes as bright lights burn into the blackness of the night sky before dying out as the sun rises. Shadows then creep across buildings as the sun sets, appearing as a giant hand moving slowly across the city, aiming to take hold of the giant tower before giving way to darkness. The picture springs into life again as the lights around the Dubai Mall and the road again begin to glow brightly.

Helped by some spooky background music, we think it is one of the most evocative images we have seen of our fair city.

Pretty awesome seeing this video as I layover in Munich airport, en route to Dubai - my new home for a while.

Absolutely stunning, and just a little different to the Welsh countryside!
