Dear Bar Steward, good music is good music, be it from 5 years ago or 25 years ago! If you like Snow Patrol try listening to some of the early Faces stuff (the band Rod fronted before going it alone). The likes of Rod, Spandau and Quo (?) more than likely inspired bands like Snow Patrol. I have seen all of the above playing live and all are well worth the ticket price. Snow Patrol in Dubai would be great (I would be there for sure) but don't forget about Dubai Sound City (Doves are up there with the best of bands with album releases in the past five years and other on that stage are sure to be releasing some quality albums in the next five) and the likes of Cold Play, Killers and KoL in AD at the end of last year! We also have Paolo to look forward to next month, for sure a major star of the future. I’ve been a music fan as long as I can remember and am a veteran of many music festival, one thing I know for sure is that some of the best music ever is from yesteryear (e.g. Floyd), and at the same time I eagerly await the arrival of the next global super-band. Having living in the UAE for more than 6 years now I can honestly say that the music talent being offered up now is a massive improvement. Lets hope for more of the same, young or old!
