Organisers are promising the biggest and best tournament ever with record-breaking crowds expected at the The Sevens stadium, which boasts six pitches and sees an average of around 120,000 fans streaming through its gates over the three-day tournament from December 1-3.
This year, 16 of the best international Sevens teams in the world will be back to thrill the crowds as they aim for glory in the 2011/12 HSBC Sevens World Series.
Away from the white-hot atmosphere of the IRB matches, competitions featuring more than 160 International Invitation, Gulf, Local Social, Ladies, Veterans, and Youth teams will see all six pitches in almost constant use over the three compelling days.
Central to everything will be the main pitch, which is transformed into the ultimate sporting arena for the tournament with the free-standing stadium built around a permanent 5,000 seat grandstand set to accommodate the world's most passionate rugby fans, who fly in from all corners of the globe.
The hugely popular 'Rugby Rock' concert will be held on both the Friday and Saturday night of the event once the action on Pitch 1 has come to an end.
