Diego Maradona is on the shortlist to take over as coach of the UAE national team, it has been reported.
The UAE's football association’s Yousuf Al Serkal said the Argentinian, who coaches Dubai side Al Wasl, is one of three names being considered. The UAE have had no permanent coach since Slovenian coach Srecko Katanec was fired after a 3-1 loss to Lebanon in September.
Last month, Maradona said he would accept the job "with pleasure". A decision is expected before the UAE's league season ends in May.
