Music geeks unite! We’re thrilled and intrigued to hear about a new trend of ‘listening parties’ taking place in the UAE. They involve DJs, musicologists and all-round arty types gathering in a room to spin their favourite records – while the audience sits in attentive silence. It’s kind of like a nightclub, without the dancing, chatting or drinks. The first Dubai event will include talks from Dust residents Wriggly Scott and Megadon Betamax, among others, and take places as part of the ‘Market of Everything’ at Traffic, on Monday October 8 at 7.30pm. And it’s free.
