UPDATE: Rihanna in Dubai rumours denied by Meydan

US pop sensation Rihanna is to perform at Dubai's Meydan Racecourse, www.arabianbusiness.com is reporting.

Meydan commercial director Mohammad Nasser Al Khayat confirmed that an announcement on the 'Umbrella' star's performance in the emirate was imminent, though the date of the gig has not yet been released.

Meydan, according to Al Khayat, will host a series of high-profile concerts next year. Names such as Madonna, Paul McCartney and Elton John have been rumoured.

The venue will host the second Atelier/Festival, featuring US rappers 50 Cent and Nelly, on October 19.
