Rihanna won’t be coming to Dubai – at least not in the immediate future.

Fierce rumours of the pop star planning to perform in the city gripped social media yesterday.

But Meydan, which was reportedly in talks with Rihanna’s people, today poured cold water on the report.

Meydan said in a statement: “Meydan would like to clarify that the Group is not currently in talks to bring Rihanna to perform at Meydan.

“Meydan, together with our partners, is committed to delivering a series of high profile music and entertainment events, including Atelier Festival on 19 October 2012, and to bring world-class acts to audiences in Dubai in the future, across all our upcoming developments.”
