The rumour mill has been turning overtime this week – and we’ve heard some crackers. First, Katy Perry is tipped to play Dubai in November. We can’t confirm where or when, or even if it’s definitely true, but it comes from a reliable source. Elsewhere, there’s talk that One Direction have booked a villa on the Palm to celebrate New Year – and they could be playing an Abu Dhabi gig while they’re over (remember, Coldplay played Yas Arena on December 31 last year). This follows a frantic few days when Example had to pull out of this week’s Sandance at the last minute, thankfully to be replaced by UK grimer Dizzee Rascal. Finally, we can reveal that the team behind the 25,000-capacity Atelier/Festival, taking place at Meydan on Friday October 19, is in talks to host monthly events there, so expect more big names – and rumours – on the way.
