Luxe Dubai emporium Boutique 1 (04 448 3444) is upping its designer credentials for spring/summer 2014 with 20 new brands joining the multi-brand store’s sartorially sound family. New kids on the block include US designer Adam Lippes (whose creations err on the edge of Amish chic), Antwerp-based jewellery designer EK Thongprasert, Italian shades brand Cutler and Cross, Orlebar Brown for women and print-savvy Sydney designer Dion Lee.
Meanwhile, the city’s fashion pack are gearing up for round three of style extravaganza Fashion Forward (www.fashionforward.ae) in April next year. Running over three days from April 10 to 13, regional design talent will send their spring/summer 2014 collections down the runway, while international experts will give talks.
Lastly, London College of Fashion (www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/middle-east) is holding more short courses in Dubai at the beginning of February. Those on offer include Social and Digital Media for Fashion and the newly launched Visual Merchandising 2 course. Courses will be held at stylish venue Vida in Downtown Dubai.
