JLT residents shocked by astronomical fees to park their motors

Parking spots have been at an increasing premium in Jumeirah Lakes Towers over the past 12 months, with prices to buy or rent a single space rocketing as a result. Residents in Indigo Tower and Indigo Icon were recently pleased to learn more spaces were indeed available, but were startled to discover the asking price – a whopping Dhs100,000 to own a space, or Dhs10,000 to rent one for the year. The increase reflects an almost 50 percent rise on the rates reported by the local press in 2013. Plans to create 1,200 more free parking spaces in JLT have also been announced.
