The Ritz-Carlton’s Café Belge brings (another) taste of Belgium to the city
A fresh taste of class is set to be breathed into DIFC with the opening of a stylish European bar-restaurant.
The retro-themed Café Belge is said to be inspired be the ‘golden era’ of 1920s Brussels, complete with Art Nouveau furnishings and an affluent vibe.
The venue marks the latest in a recent surge of all things Belgium in Dubai. Kick-started with the opening of the Lucien Belgium Café in Bur Dubai’s Ramada last summer, the second half of the year also saw the Habtoor Grand’s Horizon Lounge launch a new Belgium hops-backed garden.
2013’s Belgium invasion was then topped off with the opening of Bapas in the H Hotel – a amalgamation of the words ‘Belgium’ and ‘tapas’ which may have proved too confusing for some Dubai diners, with the bar recently rechristened Brussels Belgium Bar & Bistro.
Housed in the classy Ritz-Carlton DIFC, the new Café Belge looks like it could be a cut above the competition, promising classically Belgium food delivered with finesse, alongside distinctive Belgium hops.
Officially opening February 19, we look forward to this one eagerly.
