High profile London nightclub arriving in the emirate
We dig up the juicy rumours, new openings and hot events in Dubai’s music and nightlife scene.
She might just be plain old Jenny from the Block but this doesn’t seem to put off music lovers here. Yes, that’s right – Jennifer Lopez has announced that she’s returning for another performance in the city. The US singer, who played Dubai Media City Amphitheatre last year, will be taking to the stage at Meydan on March 29. Access to J-Lo’s gig will be restricted to 2014 Dubai World Cup ticket holders, so for your chance to see her in the flesh, be sure to visit www.dubairacingclub.com in a hurry.
Next up, following last week’s announcement about legendary DJ Carl Cox’s appearance on Atlantis Beach later this month on March 21, it has been revealed that one of the biggest DJs in the world and regular on top-ten lists, Avicii is headed to our shores once more on Friday April 4. Tickets for what is inevitably going to be an extremely popular event cost between Dhs250 and Dhs450 and can be purchased from www.timeouttickets.com.
Finally, if unlike us, you think Dubai’s in desperate need of a new high-end international nightclub brand to cater for VIPs and big spenders, you’ll be rather pleased to hear that London celeb hangout Chinawhite is set to throw open its doors some time next month.
While the location isn’t yet public knowledge, predictably we’ve been reliably informed it will be in a five-star hotel and that it will encompass the oriental style of Bali, Java and Sumatra. The London branch of Chinawhite has seen visits from the Likes of Tom Cruise, Lily Allen and Kate Moss, so we’re anticipating a fair amount of celebs (or celeb wannabes) when the club opens in April.
