Gravel-voiced, baby-faced singer to play Media City Amphitheatre in April
Scottish singer songwriter Paolo Nutini is heading back to the UAE for a Dubai Media City Amphitheatre gig on Friday April 10th.
The 2015 Brit Award-nominated singer is currently getting some of the best reviews of his career following the release of last year’s Caustic Love album. After bursting onto the scene in 2006 with pretty boy looks and heartfelt indie love songs with debut LP These Streets and then taking a career sidestep with the change-of-genre second album Sunny Side Up there followed a five year hiatus. What has Paolo been up to in that time?
Nutineers (as we’ve decided to call the loyal fan base) will be pleased to note that there is enough raspy, pop-rocky and oh-so radio friendly headboppers and obvious top ten-destined tracks to keep Paolo on your favourites playlist for a long time to come. Pleasingly there is plenty more to enjoy as well with a sound ranging from consistently funky upbeat numbers to blues-drenched ballads and even a soulful rap thrown in for good measure which should bring with it a wave of nu-Nutineers (see what we did there?). Music critics have called it the best UK R&B album since the ‘70s heyday of Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker while the BBC have labelled Nutini as ‘arguably Scotland’s biggest musician right now’.
The April 10 gig in the popular Media City Amphitheatre comes just weeks after Nutini goes head to head with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith to win the Brit Award for Best British Male solo artist and we’re already calling this as one of the shows not to miss in Dubai this year.
