The fire started at about 5.30pm but was bravely bought under control before the night was out. No injuries were reported.
'We got a call at 5:52pm this evening, regarding a fire in a residential building in Muraqabbat area,' a spokesman for Dubai Civil Defence said in 7days immediately after news broke. 'The emergency teams have been deployed and they are trying to control the fire. The rescue teams are also evacuating the residents.'
On Tuesday morning, the RTA announced the return of services to normal on all Metro lines.
In a series of Tweets, they wrote: 'RTA announced the return of service on the Dubai Metro green line to normal. That is after the temporary suspension of service from Abu Hail station to Union Station due to a fire outbreak in a nearby building that resulted in the halting of service as a safety precaution.'
They later added: '#RTA thanks the #DubaiMetro users for their cooperation and wish them a joyful journey onwards.'
