More than 50,000 leaflets about swine flu will be put in the seat pockets of all UAE domestic aircraft in a bid to educate passengers about the virus' spread.

The Ministry of Health announced the action on Sunday as a further four new cases of the H1N1 virus were confirmed in Bahrain.

Thermal scanners have been installed at UAE airports to detect passengers with higher than normal body temperatures, the National reported.

To date, 14 people in the UAE have been diagnosed with swine flu and most of the cases caught the virus abroad.

The ministry said it had ordered enough anti-flu medication to treat everyone in the country.

The pamphlet, written in Arabic and English, advises passengers suffering flu-like symptoms to, notify an air hostess, cover their face with a tissue while sneezing or coughing, try to stay almost two metres away from other people, and to visit a doctor.

Meanwhile, the number of swine flu cases in Bahrain has risen to 19.

Among the latest victims are a 29 year-old Pakistani woman and her nine month-old baby boy, who returned from a trip to Thailand on Saturday, reported the Gulf Daily News.

Another is a 48 year-old Filipina woman who returned from a trip to her home country, while the fourth is a 21 year-old British man, who arrived in Bahrain on a visit on Friday.
