In 2012, Kamal Musallam celebrated the release of his Greatest Hits album (and a Time Out award), cementing the Syrian oud and guitar player’s place in the heritage of the city’s music scene. But if anyone was scared that he’d be looking back or slowing down, he came back shining with a run of gigs in November alongside a visiting jazz band – plus live percussion from a Flamenco dancer. One of his most exciting projects yet. The Fridge (November 4, 2013).
