For almost half a century, The Swingle Singers have pushed the boundaries of what the human voice can achieve. Their vocal agility and blend, combined with captivating showmanship, have thrilled generations of audiences around the globe. Five decades on from their pioneering, Grammy-winning debut album Jazz Sébastien Bach in 1963, today’s Swingle Singers are an international a cappella phenomenon. These seven young and versatile voices deliver a unique repertoire especially developed for Dubai with equal precision and passion. As their 50th year approaches, The Swingle Singers invite the audiences in the region to join them on the next stage of their prolific journey.
An early hit for the group was Bach's "Air on the G String", recorded with the Modern Jazz Quartet. Later on, Luciano Berio wrote his postmodern symphony Sinfonia for eight voices and orchestra with The Swingle Singers in mind (appearing on the original premier recording with the New York Philharmonic). They also recorded Ben Johnston's "Sonnets of Desolation", Bach's Fugue in G Minor (BWV 578), Mozart's "Horn Concerto No. 4" and Bach's "Prelude No.7 in E flat.
