in response to nathalies question,the reason for only 1.2m high deck for stage is due to not being aloud to obstruct the screen for the racedays before the show and on the friday and thursday the week before,also we were not aloud to work till 10am every day due to horses training,we have to work around the reason for meydan which is priority there as a functional racecourse. hope that sorts that for ya

I loved the concert in itself. The best bits : Sting, the giant screen which gave us fantastic shots of the stage, the Meydan behind us was amazing to look at. The not so good bits, none really except the different zones were hard toget into, could have been simpler.
But loved every minute of it.
To Simon, the guy who built the stage. We were wondering why don't htey make the stage higher so everyone can see Sting. If it wasn't for the superb giant screen, we would have never seen him.

After reading the reviews from the general public i as an actual stage builder who came to meydan 10 days ago or so and helped create a bespoke 1 off cantilevered roof system to fly over the huge video screen,am deeply dissapointed by the reaction of what is obviously the grumpiest most miserable people on earth,the venue is obviously not suited for concerts but the opening of the racecourse is of course extremely important to certain people in The UAE ,i found the concert night was in actual fact ran extremely effiecintly by the guys on ground level trying to make a memorable evenin g for race fans and sting fans,obviously cant keep everyone happy i can see that,but when people work so hard for so long to try bring a bit of music and happiness into other peoples lifes,its so dissapointing that people are so quick to rubbish things.Dont go out then stay in and watch the perfect quality hd tv you probably have in your mansion and let other people more easy going enjoy themselves!!!! Because from the 4 or 5000 people i saw dancing and laughing and loving sting ,who was awesome by the way...2 encores he did with the numpty people leaving early to beat rush and missing the end great bits ,why go to a gig if all you care about is getting to the bar before closing? I loved it and i built it and not good venue but hey just get on with it,thats what were given!!!! Be nice to see some positive reviews from the thousand of lovely ladies and guys who had a whale of a time ....get posting people screw the grumpies..........................simon.

Sting was brilliant saved the day (night)! The Meydan experience was poor - food rubbish, facility not finished inside - toilets swamps. Waited 1.5 hours to get into the gold circle ! Apart from sting the next best thing was the taxi home.

What a disappointing concert! -"premium" seats were standing, it started an hour late. The music and Sting were ok-but hard to enjoy because of the poor choice of venue

I have to write to tell you that it was without a doubt the poorest organised event I have ever attended in Dubai.

Sting did not come on until midnight. The stage was a joke. And no lights to speak of.

And there was a huge gap between the front of the stage and the rest of the crowd.

A total disgrace.

Sting was ok - but a concert is more than just a singer on stage. As an event it simply did not work.

People should be sacked over tonight.

Just for those who have fallen into the same trap as me. I went to get my tickets today at the Meydan box office.
The ticket attendant queried why I had purchased the Meydan tickets for the racing and the STING concert tickets. I WAS INFORMED THE STING TICKETS DID NOT INCLUDE THE RACING ENTRY by the promoter.
So i am giving my sting tickets back for a full refund. The whole organisation of this event is an utter shambles.You will not relaise how poor the visibility is and yet pay a high cost for a ticket until you get their.The map layout is a joke

Can you tell me which seats will be better? I would like to be as close to stage as possible. Would the track be dirty after the race?
What does the premium seating include? Seems expensive being so far away from the stage.
Also, the gold seating seems perfect except, would the premium standing crowd block the view?
