Time Out picks 10 of the best new places to party in Dubai
Nyree Barrett, Becky Lucas, Vineetha Menon and Holly Sands
Caramel: This DIFC hangout came along in March, offering us posh drinks in grown-up environs – with a price tag. (04 425 6677).
Armani/Privé: Since April, we’ve enjoyed sipping expensive drinks at the Armani Hotel’s bar/club in the Burj Khalifa. We can’t quite afford to go every week, but it’s a treat we savour. (04 888 3308).
The Gramercy: We liked watching the World Cup in the sophisticated surroundings of The Gramercy, DIFC’s new sports bar, in June. These days we don’t need an excuse to go. (04 437 7511).
Rhodes Twenty10: Enjoy a glass of grape while tucking into a Gary Rhodes burger at his second restaurant in Dubai, at the Marina’s Le Royal Méridien. It opened on August 5. (04 399 5555).
The new 400 Club: The Parisian boudoir look has never been our bag, so when 400 Club at The Fairmont Dubai closed for a refurb, we were intrigued. Since it reopened in October, we’re big fans of the new ‘underground club’ theme. (04 332 4900).
La Petit Maison: A brand-spanking-new lava-top bar opened at La Petit Maison restaurant, which added a Dubai spot in DIFC to its classy portfolio back in October (it already has venues in London and Nice). (04 439 0505).
One&Only Palm Jumeirah: Try 101 restaurant, followed by a drink overlooking a side of the Palm rarely seen from the vantage point of the gorgeous new One&Only, open since November. (04 440 1010).
Crystal: This Raffles nightspot launched in November, and revealed some of the most intriguing decor around – wrought-iron monkey, anyone? (050 297 2097).
Music Room: We got stuck in to a new regular jam night after Ramadan and rocked out to a performance from up-and-coming UK band The Heavy on December 2 at this newly renovated Bur Dubai spot. (04 501 2534).
