In late 1994, four nerve-ridden teenage brothers from New York went into the studio to make an album under the guidance of a musical legend. Within a few months the lives of those brothers changed forever, with the runaway success of a number-two single on the Billboard charts. Those four boys, aged between 14 and 19 at the time, were Soul for Real, and the producer of that album and its hit title track, ‘Candy Rain’, was Heavy D.
Fast-forward to November 2011 and Heavy D passed away, aged 44, from a blood clot formed just days earlier, while flying home from a Michael Jackson tribute concert at which he performed. Now those four brothers, all grown up, are paying their own tribute to the man who made them the men they are. Dhs120-200, Thursday January 26.
