Well, the boys are most certainly back in town. New racing-themed gastropub The Stables (which we like very much) has launched a new themed evening aiming to, ahem, ‘put the lad back into ladies’ night’. How it works is men (with or without their missus) pay a set brunch-style fee for dinner and drinks in the company of one of their boyhood heroes, who’ll do the honours with a speech and Q&A. The management didn’t have to look far for their first guest: former Man U winger Lee Sharpe boasts about propping up The Stables bar nightly. His move into after-dinner speaking follows a colourful career that saw him win eight England caps, three league titles and two FA Cups, before finding himself a regular on reality TV shows Celebrity Love Island and Dancing on Ice.
