Bassic
The team behind AudiOasis launch a brand new night promising a ‘full 360° spectrum of bass music’ from DJs Mr Gremlin, Somalie and Kymera. To get the party started, groups of 10 arriving before 10pm get a free bottle of Russian liquid.

The Dune-Over
The first Dubai incarnation of The Do-Over – a ‘backyard boogie’ established in LA in 2005 – arrives at XL with sets from ‘I Need a Dollar’ man Aloe Blacc, King Britt, Rich Media, Cosmo Baker and founders Jamie Strong and Chris Haycock. DJ Jazzy Jeff is a fan of these informal, culture-blending mashups, so get involved. Brunch is served 1pm-4pm.

iLL Communications
Recently named Time Out Dubai’s best house night, iLL Communications hosts top international and local talent on a weekly basis in club Trilogy.

This award-winning, well-attended indie night welcomes veteran UK DJ and Trilogy resident Conan Manchester into the fold, promising an eclectic set veering from ’70s rock to ’90s hip-hop, plus a stint behind the decks from founder Andy Buchan. We’re promised fresh screen projections too, with Team America, Dangermouse, MASK and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure all mentioned.

Sole DXB Sneaker Summit
The Middle East’s ‘only sneaker festival’ – ‘trainers’ to Brits – features 12 hours of live music from local heroes including Hamdan Al-Abri, Beat Antenna, Employees of the Month, Mr Shef Codes, Underground Procedures and Big Mo, as well as sneaker-themed films, live customisation and more.

South Africa Freedom Day with Goldfish
Fresh from rocking Atlantis beach at Sandance last November, quirky jazz-infused dance duo Goldfish – who litter their catchy tunes with live horn improvs – return to celebrate the 18th anniversary of post-apartheid elections in their homeland. Support comes from Charl Chaka, Just Lance, Nthayi and Smokingroove, plus expect traditional South African food and drink.

UAE Metal Monsters
Expect some seriously heavy headliners at this local showcase, including Iron Maiden and Metallica tribute band Maidenica (see what they did there?), Fadi Al Shami, Michael Al Asmer, Alaa Abu Saada, Nadeem Bibby and Imad Dahleh. The gig takes place in the bar formally known as Aussie Legends, now named Champs.
