British former Ministry of Sound DJ heads Pukka Up Records Night Discuss this article
Launched just a year ago, Pukka Up has already attracted international notice with two Ibiza Loves Me compilations, so expect to hear plenty of those party-tastic tunes when the label’s founder flies in to spin at N’Dulge. A familiar face at 360°, Brit DJ Robinson has been in the trade for nearly two decades, getting his first kicks behind the counter at his local record shop, where he gained an apprenticeship in early ’90s house. Taking DJ gigs from the age of just 16, he moved up to venues such as Ministry of Sound before beelining into the world of fashion, becoming one of the first DJs ever to play live on the catwalk at London Fashion Week. From here his keen eye for spotting fresh talent lead Robinson to head up A&R at Peppermint Jam records for seven years, before founding his very own Pukka Up. So you should be in safe hands, then.
