The Laughter Factory
This month’s comedy-fest boasts a delightfully diverse line-up. Sean Collins made his name at home in Canada before splitting for the UK, where he’s performed three hit shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. Former music journo JoJo Smith presented TV hit Funny Business and has toured alongside Red Dwarf star Craig Charles – and before turning to comedy she worked as a bingo caller at Butlins and a tour PA for Dexy’s Midnight Runners. Meanwhile, Rainer Hersch balances comedy with a second career as a classical pianist and conductor. After completing a four-week West End run of his own show Rainer Hersch’s Victor Borge, this winter he will start a 30-date orchestra tour conducting Strauss. Wonderfully bizarre.
