Rock Bottom Bur Dubai’s 17th birthday
While it’s far from topping our list of the city’s hottest nightspots, we’d be lying if we said we’d never had a good night out at Rock Bottom. Tonight the original Bur Dubai venue marks 17 years in the emirate –
a veritable Dubai dinosaur letting out a celebratory growl.
Free. 8pm-3am. Rock Bottom Café, Regent Palace Hotel, Bur Dubai (04 396 3888).

The Laughter Factory
This month’s Laughter Factory makes a surprising left turn, with energetic, over-the-top Portuguese reality TV star Philberto taking the headline slot. A safer bet is Nathan Caton, a UK TV regular who’s appeared on Mock the Week and hosted The Nathan Caton Show on Comedy Central. Meanwhile, trained clown (we’re not joking) Addy Van Der Borgh became the first Brit comic to appear at the 20th Century Fox Comedy Showcase, and recently made his first appearance in a Hollywood film, Little Things.
Dhs140. 9pm. Various locations until September 14. Al Manzil Hotel, Downtown Dubai, www.timeouttickets.com
