As Dubai’s nightlife scene warms up, more details have come through about the GQ Bar that is opening at the world’s tallest hotel in October. It has been confirmed that the venue is going to cover 10,770 square feet over two floors of the JW Marriott Marquis and is the third opening by the brand which has outlets in Moscow and Istanbul. More news is that there’s a new band in residency at Rock institution The Music Room.
KaPOW!! are made up of six members from across the globe and will be unleashing a succession of your favourite hits on regular nights. New Lebanese-branded nightspot The White Room, at the Al Murooj Rotana on Sheikh Zayed Road, is to open its doors on August 22 or 29 – we will keep you posted. Support for NWA’s DJ Yella’s appearance at The Music Room has also been announced, with the Straight out of Compton legend hitting the decks after Deep Crates’ DJ Lobito, Dubai-based Somalie, along with a live performance from The Rastapharaohs. Further afield, American rapper T-Pain is set to perform live at Abu Dhabi’s du Forum on Yas Island with support from Time Out Dubai’s Nightlife Award’s headliner The Artful Dodger on September 6. Closer to home, the second guest DJ to spin alongside Eric Francis has been announced for N’Dulge’s new night IDENTITY. Glamorous UK DJ Natalie Brogan is to appear on August 22 at the Atlantis nightspot. Finally Florida rapper Ace Hood, the man behind the hit single ‘Bugatti’, which has nearly 30 million views on YouTube, is rumoured to be recording his new video here in Dubai next month.
