Revealed: The shortlist for the 2014 Music and Nightlife Awards
Time Out Dubai staff
Ladies and gentlemen, here it is – the emirate’s best nightlife revealed.
Every year we head out to hundreds of bars, clubs, gigs and events – and once a year, after countless debates, disagreements and headaches, our panel of informed judges assesses the competition and round-ups the best from the rest, with the Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards.
We don’t bandy these titles around freely. In a city known for superlatives, this is one time of the year a venue can earn the legitimate Time Out stamp of being the best in the business.
Ahead of the annual awards ceremony, to take place on February 26 at Conrad Dubai, we today unveil the official shortlist of nominees. A bit like the Oscars, this is a definitive list of the best venues, events and talents to have blossomed in Dubai over the past 12 months.

I'm surprised that Electric Days is in this shortlist....
Yes Maybe the play Deep house which is now the new hipster thing and yes they have a peace sign hanging somewhere, however this event is far from alternative.
It's the most exclusive thing I've gone to in Dubai and that alone defies the idea of alternative. I say that because the one time I sent a bunch of names to add to the guest list I was ask for the facebook links for each and everyone of the names that I sent 'for verification reasons'. Little did I know that it was to check if those people were 'hot enough' to attend the event...
