Music news, new openings and a visit by an Egyptian music legend
We dig up the juicy rumours, new openings and hot events in Dubai’s music and nightlife scene.
French superstar DJs Faul and Wad AD, who have had enormous global success with their deep house hit ‘Changes’ – which reached number one throughout Europe – will play at Cielo Sky Lounge this New Year’s Eve. A selection of packages are available including individual all-inclusive tickets from Dhs550 per person.
There are also a limited number of VIP tables with packages starting from Dhs5,000.
In other news, Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts is set to open a new property in Dubai’s Pearl Jumeirah, a reclaimed island positioned to become an elite address for beachfront peninsula living in 2015. The 52,000 square metre resort will include the brand’s world-renowned Beach Club and unique top line amenities. The Nikki Beach Restaurant & Beach Club will be modelled after the same stylish, contemporary look and will feel like all of the brand’s locations around the world – with a pool surrounded by plush, all-white sun beds. Located on the second floor of the main beach club and restaurant building will be an ultra-VIP lounge featuring a caviar and bubbly bar. The resort will also boast a Californian-style speciality seafood restaurant located on the beach.
Elsewhere, Jennifer Lawrence’s rendition of The Lumineers-penned track, ‘The Hanging Tree’ has peaked at number one on iTunes in 37 countries and has peaked within the Top ten in 70 iTunes stores across the world. Check out The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 in cinemas now.
Lastly, Legendary Egyptian composer and pianist Omar Khairat is set to bring his melodious magic back to Dubai with a special concert on Saturday December 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
