We dig up the juicy rumours, new openings and hot events in Dubai’s music and nightlife scene
With so many new openings every week in Dubai, it can be pretty hard to keep track of them all and that’s not including venues that have been renovated. Popular steakhouse The Rib Room at Jumeirah Emirates Towers has launched The Rib Room Bar, which is accessible through its own entrance in the hotel lobby. The menu offers a range of classic mixed drinks and grape by the glass starting at Dhs35, with a daily happy hour running from 5pm to 8pm.
In more new venue news, check out Latin American outlet Coya Dubai’s Pisco Lounge, which has a DJ seven days a week. The drinks menu features a large selection of home-made traditional Latin infusions.
As well as new venues there are also plenty of new nights to head to. Nippon Bottle Company’s ‘Flight Night’ at the Dusit Thani in Downtown Dubai is just one. Ladies get two free mixed drinks, plus selected drinks from Dhs50 every Tuesday from 6pm to 3am. Other new nights include Tr!beca MovieMondays at Tr!beca Kitchen + Bar at JA Ocean View Hotel in JBR. Each week at 8pm, Tr!beca will screen a different cult classic movie selected by the team. For Dhs50, guests are invited to enjoy the film with a glass of organic grape, house hops or a short, plus a bag of organic popcorn and the use of their own Bluetooth headset. To make sure no-one bothers you, there’s a silent waiter ordering system so guests can order food and drinks with no disruption to the movie. The finger food menu consists of classic cinema treats such as organic hot dogs and burgers as well as sweet potato fries. Upcoming movies include Wall Street on August 24, Zoolander on August 31 and Back to the Future on September 6.
