Over the next month, music fans can choose from a number of new nights featuring live performances from indie bands to tribute acts. And Lounge’s new night ‘The Other Side’ will see indie bands perform at the Dubai Marina venue on a bi-monthly basis. The line-up on selected Fridays between 8pm and 3am alternates between regional and international bands, covering all genres of music from indie pop to jazz, blues, electro and punk. Don’t miss Zeid and The Wings and Loopstache on Friday August 28 – both will be playing electron-indie. The entry fee is Dhs100.
Moving on from indie music to Latin sounds, Chamas Churrascaria & Bar at the Crowne Plaza Dubai, is celebrating Brazil’s national day with a week of fun, feast and samba, taking place every night from Friday September 4 to Thursday 10, with a Brazilian brunch on Friday September 11. Guests can enjoy a starter buffet, 18 different cuts of meat and a free flow of Brazil’s national drink, and selected grape and hops, all for Dhs295 per person. A Latin band and samba dancers will entertain throughout the night.
In more celebratory news, Hard Rock Café in Dubai Festival City will pay tribute to Freddie Mercury’s birthday. On Saturday September 5. The glory days of Queen will be re-enacted by a tribute band. The two-hour set will include anthems ‘Killer Queen’, ‘Somebody To Love’, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ For those who prefer the quieter life, head to BOCA in DIFC and enjoy a selection of four grapes, a selection of tapas and cheese for Dhs310 every Monday night at 7.30pm.
