Atelier and DJ Skool in Dubai this week. Here's when, where, and why, just for you from us to try Discuss this article
If you have an ear for a tune and have ever considered taking to the turntables, the Event Management Development Institute might have just the thing. It has teamed up with event promoters Level Productions to create DJ Skool, a four-month-long course that teaches the ins and outs of DJing, including CDJ and vinyl techniques, beat matching and use of loops and FX. The course concludes with the graduates being given an internationally recognised diploma in DJing accredited by the City and Guilds of London Institute.
The course also includes things like networking and negotiating performance fees, so hopefully you can eventually earn back the dosh you spent on it in the first place – Dhs2,500 for the basic level and Dhs6,500 for professional level. The lessons are taught by DJ Chico, host of the recent ‘Masters Of The Mix’ DJing competition, and although exact dates for the commencement of the course couldn’t be confirmed before going to press, we were assured that it would be some time around this week. So what are you waiting for?
Tania Shaikh. Courses start first week of July in EDMI, Knowledge Village, Block 13. For more information, contact Gaurav on 050 991 7993 or email djskool@rnhevents.com.
