Two-day comedy bash returns to Dubai to cure your January blues
After the festivities of Christmas and the fun of New Year’s Eve are through, you’d be forgiven for needing a bit of a January pick-me-up.
Well, McGettigan’s JLT is on hand to bring the lols with a wallet-friendly night of comedy brought to you by four brilliant Irish comedians to defy the January blues in style.
If you’re counting the dirhams in the New Year, head to the Irish institution on Thursday January 11 or Friday 12 for Comedyfest, where Dhs50 will get you entry and, get this, a free drink or burger. That’s a night of comedy and grub for a super-affordable Dhs50.
So who can you expect to see? Topping the bill is Fred Cooke, a comedian who has graced the biggest stages with his physical and musical comedy style. His public comedy stunts have gained him millions of hits on YouTube, and he has shared a stage with Ardal O’Hanlon, John Bishop, Dara O’Briain, Kevin Bridges and Sarah Millican.
Cooke will be joined by Barry Murphy, comedy veteran and founder of Dublin’s The Comedy Cellar, as well as Karl Spain, the self-deprecating comic who has toured with Kevin Bridges and Ed Byrne, and Eric Lalor, the show’s compere, who is known for his many TV appearances in Ireland.
This is surely going to be the perfect cure for the January blues, so head on down for two nights of brilliant comedy, at an amazing price.
