New Indian gastropub replaces The Music Room in Bur Dubai
Where the legendary live music venue The Music Room once stood, new venue Bar Baar will rise.
At the Majestic Hotel Tower in Bur Dubai – already home to playful Asian hangout Miss Wang’s, classy Cuban rolls lounge Room 108 and top-notch Greek eatery Elia – new social hub and gastropub Bar Baar will soon be opening up, and it’s promising something completely different.
Formerly known for its barnstorming live music sets from the city’s best up-and-coming original bands (there’s talk of the venue relocating to a more central point sometime this year), the space previously occupied by The Music Room will make way for this Indian social hub gastropub – which it says will serve a range of mixed drinks in the evening, as well a proper gastropub grub.
It’s designed to be something of a multi-purpose venue, and that’s why it’s been split into a quadfecta of zones – all with the theme of Indian living at its core.
There’s the Living Room zone, designed around communal living in Mumbai – the Lounge Zone with comfy sofas and work desks for entrepreneurs – the Community Table (for the same entrepreneurial purposes) – and the Bar zone with high stools and a bar specialising in a variety of mixed drinks.
True to the site’s heritage, there will be regular live music sessions with an in-house band and visiting musicians, as well as top-notch comedy evenings from some of the city’s stellar new comedy acts.
The bar is set to open in the coming months, and by the looks of the pictures above, it’s likely to add a trendy new venue to this bustling Bur Dubai location. Coming soon. Open daily noon-3am. Majestic Hotel Tower, Dubai, Bur Dubai (04 501 2631).
