Spanish legend will be heading to the city in October
He’s the Spanish superstar whose vocals leave us weak at the knees – and now Julio Iglesias is heading to Dubai to croon our socks off.
The Amor singer announced he will be appearing at Dubai Opera for two nights on Monday October 1 and Tuesday October 2.
It’s not the first time that the 74-year-old has performed on desert sands. Iglesias is in fact a regular visitor to the UAE, having previously performed at Dubai World Trade Centre in 2013 and at Al Majaz Amphitheatre in 2016.
The latest performances are part of the singing legend’s 50th anniversary world tour, which has seen Iglesias travel to the likes of Eastern Europe where he performed at Moscow’s Grand Kremlin Palace.
Iglesias started his singing career in the late 1960s and over the last fifty years he has racked up over 300 million record sales and has produced 82 studio albums.
Born in Madrid, Iglesias had hopes of making it as a professional footballer but his dreams were dashed when a car accident left him unable to walk for two years.
He went on to obtain a law degree before focusing on his music career after winning the Benidorm International Song Festival in 1968.
Tickets aren’t on sale just yet, but we will be keeping an eagle eye on the Dubai Opera website for updates. Watch this space… Mon Oct 1 & Tue Oct 2. Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, www.dubaiopera.com.
