Syrian musician Khalil Ghadri lands at The Fridge this week
Expect a culture-merging mash-up when Syrian musician Khalil Ghadri lands at The Fridge this week. Playing the exotic kanoun – a 72-string Arabic harp-style instrument – Chadri fuses elements of Arabic, Indian and flamenco music with Western pop styles. Since moving to Dubai a decade ago he’s found a niche composing TV and radio tunes, but will be performing music closer to his heart here, with an acoustic sextet including violin, guitar, flute, vocals and percussion. Khalil Ghadri Acoustic Band play The Fridge on Monday November 14 at 7.30pm. Entry is Dhs50 (04 347 7793).
