The Act
Highly Commended Best Latin American

The closest Dubai has to the full-blown cabaret drama of the legendary Moulin Rouge club, this Shangri-La restaurant is as dramatic, atmospheric and downright entertaining as anything you’re ever likely to experience in the city. Where else could you dine while a woman dances with half a dozen hula hoops and a man dressed as a hipster bear lurches between tables? Styled live a vaudeville theatre with tables in and among the performances (of which there are many including magic, music and, memorably, dance) a meal here as a performance. Thankfully the cast of talents includes a chef turning out exciting Peruvian dishes timed to arrive between the various acts to take the stage. The concept is tapas and sharing platters with three set menus available, ranging from Applause at Dhs320 to Encore at Dhs495. This is not a place to be shy – go all out and indulge in plates such as the quinoa-coated prawns with passion fruit, five-spice lamb shank and wagyu rib eye with mango and truffle chimichurri.
