You’d be forgiven for thinking that any restaurant within a stone’s throw of The Walk at JBR – a tourist trap if ever there was one – would cost a pretty penny. Think again. Da Shi Dai serves tasty Chinese treats such as steamed Cantonese buns with barbecue chicken filling, mixed mushrooms in rice pastry and mango with battered prawns at equally mouth-watering prices. Try the quarter duck with pancakes may be one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, but it tastes delicious and is filling to boot.

we love da shi dai, the food is excellent and prices are really good, BUT and this is a huge but for us, because of the open kitchen there is a really heavy and greasy smell in the restaurant. It makes it impossible to enjoy the really good food. Would love to go back again, but cannot because of the smell, unfortunately it is dealbreaker.

Pathetic service and attitude of staff. It was hot since AC on one side of the restaurant was not 100% functional. Between starters and main course order, we had to call n ask the staff couple of times to take our order.

I liked the ambiance and the service... the server was really attentive.... Liked the food we order... it was quick, tasty and well presented.. specially the mocktail...

No i wouldnt go to this restaurant...Didnt like the foooood at all... The ambience is really nice.... Tasteless food.. But the Service is good

One of the most horrible restaurant in Dubai. It is best controlled by Shams the manager if he is off or mising the restaurant go Banana. Never visit the food is disastor service is good.

Scallop Shu Mai and Mixed mushrooms in crispy rice pastry is our favourite! Though the pastry is becoming smaller every time we order it, it still tastes really good. They do deliveries as well but if you want your Scallop Shu Mai with fish roe on top of it, don't order it for delivery. Their chicken and sweetcorn and hot and sour soup is also good but the Bang bang chicken is quite disappointing.

The food quality is deteriorating. Too salty and spicy. My last time visit was also bothered with a lot of flies. The hygiene situation is getting worse as well.

I have visited Da Shi Dai a number of times for lunch, simply because I love the food, and its close to where I work. However, I have found the service to be SO inconsistent over my many visits, and have occasionally had similar complaints about the food...which were always entertained graciously.

I also think that the food is somewhat overpriced.

its the best chiness restaurant in dubai,i would go there every single day,coz the food is woo,the service comes along as well i was treated so well that i didnt want to leave the restaurant,
should try this restaurant,

Ordered eggplant and it's so salty! The food quality dropped dramatically. It's definitely not worth the price they charge! If you like, you can find the similar stuff in some small Chinese restaurants in Deira.
