The lobby of Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate is certainly impressive, with its high ceilings and hanging Arabic lanterns, but bizarrely the restaurant itself has taken on a strange boudoir design; though modern and clean, it’s more reminiscent of a VIP club than a space for fine dining. The menu contains Western versions of Chinese dishes, but it’s a pleasant surprise to find that they have a few authentic dishes. Xiao long bao, for instance, where the steamed soup dumplings come in the traditional wooden pots with vinegar and chilli, and although the pastry is slightly too thin and you may end up in a sticky mess, the taste transports you to People’s Square in Shanghai.

Service take long. Portion is extremely small. Attitude is good. Very expensive. Doesn't worth to go again.

Amazing cuisine and friendly authentic service.......I spent an evening there with my husband and will surely be back.

The team took care of us and it was simply put, one of my best recent dining experiences!

We will be back for sure!

Food came cold to the table and portions were small. So we did not like the food. Service was very good and it is in a very beautiful setting, it is a shame that they could not manage to have good food!

this was an nice experience ,great service and delicious food for reaonable prices.

i can recommend this chineese restaurant to all , the taste of the food is for sure one of the best in Dubai.

Last week I tried Shanghai Chic with my wife and have to say I am a fan. I really enjoyed the attention to detail and aslo got a visit from the chef.
I am looking forward to another visit to try some more deliciuos menu items

Absolutely stunning ambience, great value for money. Try the Beijing Duck. Staffs are very pleasant. Will definately recommend it to everyone, who loves Asian food.
