A timeless menu offers food that is consistently well cooked and presented. Though not particularly exciting compared with neighbouring Table 9, simple mains at Glasshouse such as baked fillet of cod and the lamb rump taste good, and are well matched with their accompaniments. If you like a preamble to your meal, you can’t go far wrong with the rich and tangy tomato soup. As diners can be few and far between, the service is impeccable, friendly and personal – there’s a distinct keenness to be on first name terms with everyone in the restaurant, and you can’t help but reciprocate. If you’re looking for a decent mid-week meal near the creek, Glasshouse is recommended, but those who prefer to eat out on weekends should wait until the restaurant expands its portfolio of daily deals.
