Barça Club, Palm Jumeirah
Nominated for Best International 11 Comments
Much of this Mediterranean restaurant’s appeal is a result of its aura of seclusion, with cosy interiors and a relatively hidden location on the Palm. On the menu, expect to find almost authentic Spanish tapas alongside tapas-style portions of other favourites from around southern Europe – though the albondigas (meatballs) are a clear winner – as well as artisan pizzas, paellas and grilled mains. Even when only half-full, Barça Club still manages to create a buzzing atmosphere, aided by the fact it also welcomes guests just for drinks. The downside is that with smoking allowed at the bar, the smell can sometimes infiltrate the restaurant, but overall it’s a great place to feel at ease on a date or simply enjoy a well-prepared meal.
