Deeply disappointing. i don't understand how there are good reviews for this place.

The waiters intentionally look the other way, you basically beg for service.
The soup was super salty. they brought it back 15 minutes later and it was still the same.

ALL the food we ordered was so bad we didn't finish any of it except the fattoush and rocca salad. How can someone screw up hummus is beyond me.

I have been there two times, today was supposed to be the third but the welcoming and seating went so bad that we went to a different restaurant .
We were six and the waiter wanted to place us in a table for four even thus half the tables were available but as per them "Section is closed " .
Even the food is good , we wont go there again .

Food: Mediocre at best. Very average, nothing special and for the price paid, completely not worth it.

Service: Terrible. The waiters were slow and clumsy. They mixed up my order. I had to ask 3 different waiters, just to get a bottle of water, they kept on forgetting! And when i got my bill, they charged me for things i didn't even order! SO CHECK YOUR BILL!

Decor: Very good! The designer did a wonderful job.

Ambiance: Nice! There were lots of people, again the design was wonderful.

Value: ZERO! Overpriced for extremely average food and horrible service. By far, one of the WORST restaurants I've been to in Dubai.

Conclusion: I wont recommend it based on food or service, they're both BAD!!!

I would go back because it is like most other restaurants serving a nice spread of food, with the location to their advantge. The sheesha is good.
But I do have to say that I reserved a table outdoors, but on arriving was informed the table was then reserved for the owners! And they will have to see what can be done. I did get the table i desired but had to be persistent. The service was slow at times, it took a salad and khubz an hour to reach our table. But the rest of the order was quickly delievered. So Im not sure what was going on.
I will give it another chance in the hopes that they sort themselves out!

I LOVE MEZZA HOUSE they have the best shisha ever !

I,ve heard a lot about it, but the food was shocking!
I've had way better food, plus the service is really poor, the waiter insisted that we sit wherever he chose! Well! HELLOOOO I'm the customer here I choose wherever I wanna sit, and it wasn't even crowded! So there wasn't any convincing reason!

Went with a friend for the iftar deal. Brilliant Mezze. Best Fattoush I've ever had. main courses were a little blah. Don't get the 'roasto' or the 'artechokay\ lol/

I normally like Mezze House, but the IFTAR here tonight was AWFUL. For 150 AED, you get some REALLY LOUSY food.

Four courses, one cold mezze, one hot, main courses, and desert. Its a set menu, so you cant choose what you eat. so the whole menu is off limits, its quite BAD.

the cold mezze was good - what you would expect from any arabic restaurant in dubai, but nothing special. hummous, bamia, mtabal, fried eggplant/cauliflower (no classic tabouleh or fatoush)

the hot mezze was average but very limited in choice - makanek, meat and spinach pies that tasted old, and liver

main courses - roast with mashed potato, the roast WAS SO DRY I had to smother it in the nasty artichoke soup (second option), rice with chicken, and more rice

desert - whatever

The selection and food was so bad. I would never go here again for iftar. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Oh, and then, because a couple people didn't show for the reservation, they tried to charges us 150 AED/person that did not show up. are you joking me? bad food and bad management = bad restaurant.

Ok, right after my first preview from July 15th. here comes my review.

My fiancee and I visited Mezza House after 2 years of absense. We're from Germany for vacation.

And I must say that we looked at all details after reading all bad reviews here.

Warm welcome, great table after reservation (one small thing was that the reservation made a couple of days in advance by email wasn't replied, but after a short call in the early afternoon all was set up for our evening dinner).

So great food, great ambience.

Waiters allways responsible (as soon as I nipped a bit on my water it was refilled) so very freindly and promüt service overall.

Couldn't explain myself why such bad critics came up. Maybe a cultural thing between arab and europeans, maybe we expect other things more than locals... I din't know.

Prizing: yes there are take away restaurants with same offer and cheaper prizes, but all in all great food in a great ambience. So worth the money. And all things could always be cheaper in life or? ;-)

At the end a further great evening and worth to do again at Mezza House.

It's crazy to see all reviews. We visited the Mezza House shortly after it's opening in 2008. And all was fine after we had found it in the construction chaos around Burj Khalifa in Downtown.
We will visit Dubai again and will visit Mezza House, even with this partly bad comments and because of it, to see why there are so many best and so many bad reviews?

you can spend less for the same food quality somewhere else in Dubai with good service.

I visit this restaurant with my family and friends regularly and usually on Fridays, being an Abu Dhabi residence and visiting Dubai for us is on weekends only. I can say that food is very good yet so expensive comparing with similar restaurants which serve same menu, but money is not a big deal especially if we want to enjoy the tasty food and the special plates.
Usually, we make a reservation a day or two prior to the weekend, to secure a table for us especially that we go there groups not less than 5-6 adults and weekend is such peak times for family and friends gatherings.
Last Friday, we made a reservation for five adults at 3:00 and all was fine, we were not informed when we made the reservation that on Friday there will be a buffet or what-so-ever. We walked in to the restaurant, sat down and asked for the menu to choose from. Unlikely; the waiter asked us to wait for a minute, after a while we asked again for the menu as it took more than the usual time, suddenly a person whom introduced himself to us as the restaurant’s manager informed us that there will be no menu to choose from today and alternatively we must go with the buffet option, which happened to be the only option on that day! Surprisingly; we looked at each other and one of us made a statement to the “Manager” that she visited the place last Friday and she ordered normally from the menu and there was no buffet! Additionally, I told him that we always come over on Fridays and we never encountered such issue before, as we were there before two weeks or so when we ordered out from the menu and every thing went out very normal. Badly this manager informed us that there is no way to allow us to order from the menu and we got the buffet option only which will charge the one AED 120/- ! (This amount is food charges only exclusive other services, such hable bable and drinks). However, this manager added that being the place “manager” he can arrange the special dishes we wish to have over lunch and include these dishes in to the buffet, yet again he reconfirmed to us that the charges will be AED120/- for each person!!! WHY is this???!!! Normally, the most expensive plate will not exceed AED60/- or so.
Sadly, we absolutely refused this type of rubbery to fool us. We left the place after this meaningless conversation with such unprofessional young man who I believe doesn’t fit such position in such reputed place. I can only say now that “Mazzeh” is definitely one of the worst restaurants in Dubai city which runs one of the worst staff ever!!!
I really wish to advise the place owner to reconsider this policy, if initially he is the one who created it. For definitely no one likes to be forced to have an unwanted plate for such price!
I prefer to visit a 5 stars hotel if I want to go for the buffet option, and you can really find easily in Dubai high reputed buffet with not more than AED130/-

Finally, I would like to add this place is best for "NOTHING"

If you wish to ruin your weekend mood, I absolutely advise "Mezza House".

Mezza House is one of the rare restuarants that reminds me of "Mum's cookung"..very tasty dishes that are cooked with lots of aroma's and delicacies... I like the atmosphere as well a lot, especialy the Tuesday Karaoke nights!!!

My favorite dishes are the "Batata Harra", "Fatoush" and "Shish Barak"
I think everyone should try them...The service is very good and friendly also, and the music is always amazing....

You should definately try Mezza House, its one of the best Levant Kitchens in Town!!!

It's definitely a very good stand alone Levant cuisine restaurant & concept that offers 4 different cuisines "Lebanese, Palestinian, Jordanian & Syrian"

Mezza House excellent service. The food menu had the best variety to select from all Arab regions. Food is delicious ofcourse and to top it all the ambience is amazing... Middle eastern style with lots of turqoise and dark wood

The decor of the place is really nice! loved the painting's, tables are way to close.... i.e. i could hear what the people two table away where talking about! and not to mention trying to move to and from the long sofa to sit at the table! and while sitting on the sofa i feel that the table is chin high! i feel like i need to be sitting on a pillow!
The service it all depends whos serve's you! i've had good and and bad service but generally is OKAY, nothing wow!
Food is not as good as it's made out to be, I've had much better and cheaper! but I know they are trying, some day they'll get it right "inshallah"
as for the most important thing is the value, the prices need to be tweeked by at least 25% lower rate for it to be worth going again... I bet the cost of paying rent does not allow them to do that... but we are living in a credit crunch and may need to look into it! and whats up with a set menu!!! the owner really needs to look at all this and decide where does he want to be in 5 years!

Having recently moved to old town and excited to see the sites my husband and I took a wonderful stroll through our new neighborhood. We settled on Mezza house after seeing Time outs shiny review online. Although stating I would not return to the establishment itself I would certainly order a takeaway as the food is tasty, satisfying and plentiful.

The fare is a little overpriced, a fabulous street eat in Satwa serves up similar with better atmosphere, flare and price! On arrival the small restaurant empty except a table of two, the female party delightfully sharing personal stories across the whole of the restaurant, the terrace and maybe even heard across in the Address hotel. The manager insisted we we sit in the table of 2 half a centimeter from there's, looking around dumbly at the several other empty tables it was only my insistence for the 3rd time that he allowed us access to another table. The waiter with a great sense of humor and severely apologetic over the many "restaurant policies" hid the al a carte menu from us until we had been bullyed into the set menu, then swiftly magic-ed it paul daniels style from behind his back!

After scoffing through the volumes of hot and cold starters, the mixed grill as our chosen main was just too much for two belly's. Not one to waste our food and lovers of the late night snack we politely asked to have the remainder of the feast wrapped to go - unfortunately not, this was restaurant policy! However we could order the same again as a takeaway, but of course this had to be on the minimum spend of 120 AED per head!

Skip this and head to a fabulous street side haunt for half the price and twice the atmosphere!

I went there for Eftar with my family and freinds and really liked the food and place..

The shisha is also very good..And in general its good value for money...I would definetly be back there again..

I will definitely not go there again. All previous reviews stating that they will go their again are pure lies by the owner’s friends.

I went there during Ramadan to experience the most bizarre horrifying experiences ever. I was really astonished from the way that both the management and owner behave towards customers. My analysis of the situation is they are inexperienced, immature and they suffer sever inferiority complex.

Whenever you have a problem with your bill, first line of defense comes to you as the restaurant manager who can not solve the problem because he is very sure that the bill is a broad day light robbery. Accordingly he sends for backup which is Mr. Owner who can barely read the bill and welcomes you with racial / uncivilized phrases which indicates total inability to run such business. He has a PhD in arguing twisting and deception which suddenly turns into a warm welcome behavior if he is going to loose the case.

In brief, those are the kind of people who want to dig their hands into your pocket and take your money for nothing in return. If you have the guts to claim your rights, then you have to be either policeman or a gangster that you can properly deal with the situation.

I definitely wouldn't have iftaar here again. Place is too tight. I had to stop what ever I was doing when the waiter was serving something, it was really annoying. But the waiters are really nice.
Might be ok for a night out with the Mrs. Other than that, I dont think its worth it. Way too over-hyped in my opinion. And the food was just ok.

We had iftar in the Mezza House tonight. Firstly the place is very small, extremely narrow, to the extent that the distance between tables do not exceed 75 cm at best, and to the extent also that each time the shisha boy passes by with his fire you will literally feel the heat. We booked a table for 2 adults, 1 child below 4 years and 1 yr old infant. I will just by-pass commenting on the food at the moment. I will fist share with you the horrible experience of being ripped off. We went for 2 'iftar set menu'. When the bill came they accounted for 3 pax (i.e.150x3) + 20 dhs for water 'ignoring that this is a set menu' + 50 dhs for 'Ramadan drinks' (by the way in almost all the restaurants water, dates and ramadan drinks are included in the charge for iftar) + 78 dhs service charge. I called the 'manager', and started clarifying why am i being charging for 3 pax, although the adults on the table are only 2. He argued that this is the policy of the restaurant, as the table is for 4, therefore we need to pay for 4, but they will charge me for 3 only – what a merciful policy. I told the chap that this is not how people do it in any other restaurant, and even if you want to charge for a child ‘below 4’ it shouldn’t be a full charge. And surprisingly he said, sir haven’t you been to restaurants before? I ignored his rudeness and told him: please go and call your boss. He left our table and came after 5 minutes, saying “oh sorry I asked the waiter and he confirmed the fact that the food served has only been for 2, so we will re-fix the bill for you”. 5 minutes later another gentleman visited our table saying please sir could you clarify what is wrong with your bill? I told him to go and ask his manager, we have just had a 10 minute chat explaining this. He said I have just spoke to him, but I am here with the capacity of the financial manager, and I just wanted to inform you that you have to pay the bill as is without any change, sorry it is our policy. I called the manager who came with a 3rd gentleman who claimed he is the owner of the place. He said if you have any problem let’s call the police to resolve it, and sorry you need to wait outside the restaurant now. And that came like a shock to me. An owner of a respectful restaurant operating in Dubai is not expected to say that. I have never ever experienced this in what so ever form. I have been in Dubai for almost 3 years and have never faced any similar experience. I went out with my family to wait in the heat outside, and the 3 of them started to try convincing me that I should have accepted to pay “i.e. to be ripped off” as this is the policy of their restaurant, or else they will call the police. I had to tell them in a very angry language that please stop talking to me and just call the police. When they found that I turned to be very serious about calling the police, the so called mr. owner started to pretend to be nice, he apologized and he finally kindly approved to remove the charge of one pax from the bill. But they charged for the water and the Ramadan drinks plus the 25% service charge. In this awful experience, the waiters were extremely nice, but regrettably the management was extremely rude and non-disciplinary. I believe that the failure of any restaurant starts with the word of mouth, that is why am sharing my experience with you. Forgot to tell you; with regards to the food there is nothing so special about it. It is the normal Lebanese food.

very nice place for any occasion. I had dinner with my friends birthday.. such a friendly waiters. excellent food, atmosphere, and the best part is service from the staff. Jaafar was the best part of the night.

Amazing meza which you cant find elsewhere in Dubai, Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian dishes that leave you planning for your next visit, creative comfortable setting, friendly people, and 2 Oud nights a week which take you to different time and place- where u appreciate music, old and modern songs, and a homely atmosphere... Nothing like it, really, the place is addictive!

The food is definately great, large variety that responds to every taste...complemented by a spectacular view(of the burj dubai), great service and overall comfy atmosphere.

It is a wonderful place to experince an authentic arabic and lebanese atmoshere. The food is absolutely devine (hummus in particular, the best ever), with mouthwatering flavors flowing through the restaurant and various aromas coming from the different number of shisha flavors availble. Pleasant Arabic tunes are played in the back ground which enhances the beautiful view from the terrace. Staff are friendly, attentitive and welcoming, their smiles warm up the evening upon arrival. All in all it is an astonishingly outstanding place to visit, it allows your five senses to come alive. Sight, Touch, Smell, Taste & Sound. Good Luck Mezza House, its great that there's finally a place in duabi we can all finally feel at home in regardless our nationality and background!! Will definitely be visiting again!!

Mezza House is my personal favorite restaurant in Dubai. With its perfect location,elagant and unique decor, and friendly ambience, you can sit there for hours without feeling the time go by. The food is simply SPECTACULAR! no exceptions...everything on that menu is mouthwatering. My advice to those intending on visiting is go feeling hungry and try the Mezza Lemonade!

When u walk inside the place first thing attract your attention is the Orintal decoration ambiance with a swiss spirit, then u meet the waiter smilling for you welcoming nd escorting you to your seat, then another guy appears smilling to you nd u will find soon that he is the captain order approaching to u presenting his name nd his position telling you that he is the one who is responsible for your service so no worries just chill out nd feel home, your wishes r commands to us.
What can i sahy more the starters , food ending with the dessert its all Awwwwwwwwww so damn tasty i've eatn there b4 nd i know what i am talking about .
I've been to so many , alot of places in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and all around the Emirates, i gotta admit that i didnt see a shisha as they have at Mezza House.

I have been to Mezza several timesad have received excellent service. The food menu had the best variety to select from all Arab regions. Food is delicious ofcourse and to top it all the ambience is amazing...

Just do not like when the door opens and closes and when flies may enter.... not a nice thing at all...

Being a big fan of food in general, made me able to tell the difference between normal,medium and excellent food.
I can honestly say that the food at Mezza House is simply EXCELLENT..
It is unique, different and cooked perfectly to satisfy various tastes...

After having lived in Dubai for many years and sampling the fare at many a Lebanese restaurant, I could honestly say that I wasnt really a big fan. Not liking lamb, the dishes I could have were limited to usually hummous with shish tawook. Mostly.

However, Mezza House is like a dream you never even knew you had coming true.

The hummous is the most delicious compared to any other restaurant's and who knew that fatoush could be so wonderful on your palette? I was recommended the chicken fatteh by an extremely friendly waiter and can honestly say - best discovery of 2008!

One companion tried the plate of mixed kebabs and couldnt speak because he was so busy enjoying every morsel. The other tried the duck... which came on a huge platter and took up most of the space on the table - but was totally worth it. It was juicy, succulent and full of flavour.

An Arabic restaurant then, that stands apart and gives one a TRUE flavour of the region. Its a must-go for when we have visitors from back home!

It is a great Authentic Levant cuisine that serves food from 4 countries. Lebanon, Palestine, Syria & Jordan, The Andalusian Turquoise interior decoration is very comfy & gives you a feeling of home, A great location in Dubai's finest district & overlooking Burj Dubai & the Dubai mall. Not to forget the custom made Shisha "hubly bubly" is worth a try.

A great place to be, if your in Dubai, or visiting, you should be in mezza house..
