No prizes for guessing the type of cuisine served at this restaurant. However, while the straightforward, tasty Moroccan food (think: harira soup, couscous, lamb shanks and, of course, tagines) that is churned out by the kitchen is one thing, the setting in which it’s served is another altogether – tobacco-coloured walls provide a backdrop for lanterns, rugs and traditional Moroccan trinkets. The dining area, meanwhile, is divided into smaller rooms and alcoves to ensure privacy and there’s also an option of live outdoor seating when the weather’s cool. It’s this romantic, mystifying setting that makes Tagine what it is – the food’s adept, yes, but it’s carried a long way by the setting.

We did a ladies night last yesterday at the tagine, we were 6 ladies, all of us had a good experience with this restaurant before, but we have been very disappointed by the service and the food.

When we arrived, we had to wait for the other friends for the order, but the waiters didn't seem to be happy with that, they kept turning around us, and asking us to drink .
After, the friends arrived, we called the waiter to take the order.
A very unpleasant men, didn't even smile once, kept looking at us one after the other,
and couldn't come around the table to take the menus, but asked me
" can you pass me the menus?"

After the food came, he put them roughly on the table, and left without naming them, or saying anything, we were lost!

The food itself was very disappointing , like if they had cooked it a long time before, it was very salty, and we left nearly very thing as it was.
A big difference with the meal we had there last summer!

A the end we ordered the Moroccan tea, I think they put like 500g sugar!

I payed the bill, not cheap! And stayed with my friends another 20 mn chatting, and again, they didn' t seem to be happy with that, kept saying
"Thank you and good night!" ( The only polite word we've heard the whole evening)To kick us out the reataurant!

Never again the tagine!

this restaurant is the best ,every year I come from Germany the first thing Odo is dining in this restaurant nothing is missing all the best conditions are there.

After spending 2 days trying to get through the restaurant reservation, I was able to make a booking for Ifthar... on the 29th.
Working as well in the hospitality industry, I called again the day before on the 28th to reconfirm my reservation. To bad so sad that I was having meetings on the 29th afternoon and could not answer my phone and then could not get once again through the busy restaurant reservations line, then to be told on my way there that my reservation for Ifthar has been cancelled as I did not answer my phone... Thank you Tagine!

Honestly, the best moroccan restaurant in dubai!

Excellent food and ambience. Live music was great fun and our waiter, Yasmine, was very helpful and friendly - all in all a superb evening and we'll definitely be returning soon.

It would be great if they would listen more to people's advise, do something about the value OR the portion; wouldn\t mind paying that much if the portions were bigger

Very romantic restaurant, I enjoyed every minute and every bite.
I love Moroccan cuisine, and Tagine may not be the best, but it certainly is great. Their Pastillas are too tiny though, a real Moroccan Pastilla should be triple or even bigger than the size they serve. Other than that, it was lovely and very romantic.

We got ripped off at Tagine. The atmosphere and food were nice, but when I ordered a side dish of couscous, they charged me the same price as a main meal for it. 80 Dhs for a plate of couscous for two is ridiculous. We were also served the most expensive water there without being asked or told what the options were. Although the waiters were attentive, I walked away feeling like they had done us over.

i went there last weekend, the couscous was doing good so the pastrie
