The deal: This French chain goes all out to ensure quality of its ice-cream, flying everything in from the motherland. With flavours such as rose petal, chestnut, bergamot and more, there’s something for everyone – we first tried the violet flavour, which really did taste like eating a vase of flowers, but we preferred the salted caramel flavour, which tasted like the joyous sugary crust of a crème brûlée.

Best for: A continental ice-cream experience.
