Best for: Casual dining at Atlantis.

The view: From here you can see straight out to the Atlantis beach, with the towering glitz of Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence in the distance

The food: This is comfort food with a Tex-Mex twist. From tender juicy fajitas (try the mushroom version – it’s one of the best we’ve had) and generous portions of quesadillas to scrummy desserts and an extensive drinks menu with regular happy hours and promotions, the whole family can tuck in here. It’s not situated right on the beach, but it’s close enough to enable you to enjoy the view without the noisy kids and turnip-faced parents.

Also look out for: The service – very friendly but bordering on over-attentive.
