15 beachside restaurants

Best for: A couple of pints with your mates.
The view: You can spy the Palm twinkling in the distance, while the JBR towers peep over the bar area.
The food: Basic, filling but relatively uninspiring, the bar snacks menu veers towards European staples (pasta, burgers, fries, club sandwiches and the like) to keep the tourists happy. The regular nightly barbecue is a better option, offering hungry diners a huge plate of meat fresh from the grill. We particularly like the sticky ribs, as long as you don’t mind getting barbecue sauce smeared round your mouth (and down the front of your shirt).
Also look out for: Shisha, board games and a pool table (it’s popular, so arrive early to be sure of a game).
Average price of a meal for two with soft drinks: Dhs300-399. Open daily noon-10.30pm. Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, The Walk at JBR (04 399 1111).
