Grosvenor House Dubai

Nominated for Best Afternoon Tea Comments

Setting: We mistakenly expected the Rhodes in Residence tea to be served in Rhodes Mezzanine, rather than in the Grosvenor House lobby. However, as lobbies go, it’s pleasant, with a great pianist.

Presentation: Three-tiered stands for the food; white china for the tea (with a glass teapot for the herbal tea options).

Food: A higher class of eats, including quail’s egg and mayonnaise sandwiches, duck and cranberry pasties but, of course, home-made scones with clotted cream.

Tea: There are an impressive eight categories, some even with sub-categories. We were dismayed that the curious-sounding 1990s Raw Puerh Tea, made with sweet-cured tobacco leaf, was unavailable on our visit.

Fantastic. The charismatic manager makes the tea feel very special (even presenting each lady with a white rose).

Dhs150 per person, Dhs250 with a glass of bubbly. Daily 3pm-6pm. Grosvenor House Dubai, Tower Two, Dubai Marina (04 399 8888).

The best Hotel I`ve ever been to. The service was great, food was amazing and there is no other swimming pool like theirs! Thank you !

The food at Grosvenor House Afternoon Tea is amazing and I particularly love the Salmon Fishcakes Balls and Duck Pasties. Followed by the selection of quintessentially English cakes and then finished with the unique ice cream cones - something a little different!
The staff are very polite, extremely efficient and attentive. The enthusiasm of the Manager adds the personal touch with his ability to make everyone feel special, ,bc d. whether you are there as a large group or just two. The pianist adds a wonderful background to what I feel is the best Afternoon Tea in Dubai

Fabulous afternoon tea, in a relaxed and decorative setting, all to the backgound of the piano. Wonderful selection of mouthwatering cakes, pastries, sandwiches, etc not to mention the scones! Extensive choice of teas and beverages. The attentiveness of the manager Jozef is amazing. Great value compared to most, would definitely recommend it.

The reservations team lacks professionalism and the sense of urgency when it comes to booking rooms. I sent my request at 12nn, I got a reply at nearly 5pm with all the wrong information you can imagine.. To think that I sent nearly 5 e-mails and called them by the hour!!! The hotel should invest in giving their staff proper training especially in customer service. You can obviously sense the agent's urgency to finish the call (definitely not listening to your concern!) and sarcastic voice. I've dealt with a lot of hotels here in Dubai and definitely, this is the worst!!!
