Cosseted behind the trademark diamond shaped stained glass found in the London export, you'll forget the Mall outside; (and perhaps even Dubai), in a world that combines the wood panelling and leather lounge chairs of a private member's club; with the sleek buzz of a Parisian bistro, with a little pinch of 1920s, jazz-age glamour thrown into the mix. The interior, like the menu itself, straddles a sense of old-world Britain, with its modern counterpart, influenced by the continent. As such, expect to find comforting and hearty recipes with rustic English classics such as calves' liver and nursery desserts such as sticky toffee pudding (updated with banana, for extra richness). These sit alongside their French equivalents of foie gras and crème brûlée. The food is simply conceived, but excellently prepared and highly enjoyable. Service is strong across the board, combining an intuitive sense of the diner's needs, with a warm conversational tone, and a solid knowledge of the menu.
Open daily 7am- 11.30pm. The Boulevard, Jumeirah Emirates Towers (04 319 8767).
