A generous range of Latin American fare is on offer here, the handiwork of acclaimed Mexican chef Richard Sandoval. Expect dishes including ceviche starters, delightful cachapas de Carabobo (cheesy pancakes, for want of a better description), wholesome red beans, prime cuts of beef, succulent lamb chops and tasty chicken served churassco-style to your table. The venue itself is adorned in dark hues, embellished with high-backed chairs, long dining tables and, just for good measure, the occasional animal hide. The à la carte style of the brunch makes it all the more sociable, since guests aren’t always coming and going to and from the buffet. As well as big parties, there are quieter corners for smaller groups, couples and families. While the low-key atmosphere is nice, it wouldn’t hurt to turn up the background music a notch – especially as the brunch wears on – to liven up the atmosphere, which feels rather subdued. This is a brunch suited to a classy birthday gathering and those who prefer long lunches over the traditional buffet.
