Offers a contemporary, upmarket dining experience in swish surrounds shown off by the high ceilings, dim lighting, marble floors and views out to the Burj Khalifa. It’s certainly a pleasant, romantic setting, with a glitzy bar at the entrance, but there’s a slight whiff of airport lounge – though perhaps that’s more a question of personal taste. There’s a small terrace for those lucky enough to get a table, and that’s where we recommend you sit, especially if you’re entertaining guests. Food-wise, the menu offers a good selection of fresh dim sum and steamed buns, as well as creative soups and starters. Mains are broken down into vegetarian options, poultry, beef, lamb and seafood, including live grouper and lobster cooked in your preferred way. If you’re hungry and keen to try every course, the set menus are a good option, ranging from Dhs338 to a whopping Dhs660 per person. Presentation is flawless, as are the elegantly dressed staff who provide five-star service, yet somehow dishes miss the wow-factor you’d expect when paying such high prices.
