Xiao Wei Yang Hotpot

Hotpot may not be the first thing to spring to mind on a hot summer’s day in Dubai, but Xiao Wei Yang’s specialty makes for a refreshingly different dining experience – and it’s a truly authentic one, too. The simple creekside eatery on Baniyas Road is spread out over two floors, each table hooked up to a gas canister, which feeds the flames that keep your hotpot nicely bubbling away. For those new to this style of eating, it’s essentially a pot of hot, flavourful broth – spicy, not spicy or both (separated, of course) – in which diners proceed to cook various items, ranging from fish, seafood and meat to leafy vegetables, mushrooms, tofu and even seaweed. If the vast menu confuses, the exceptionally helpful staff are more than happy to run you through proceedings and make recommendations. It’s a fun, casual, sociable experience. And from the unique pulley system used to shuttle orders to the kitchen, to the huge variety of tasty, authentic food, we can’t recommend it enough.
Open daily 2pm-2am. Baniyas Road, near Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek (04 221 5111).

Its totally a different experience.. We need to develop a taste for it.. If we should learn to mix the sauce properly, its pretty good food... I think everyone should try once... Its definitely worth it
